Spike being so easily played by The Beast was an unwelcome surprise. He went into the battle half beaten by the loss of his favour and the possibility of losing Xander. The fight was vivid and brutal, and I'm reeling at The Beast's proposal. Spike losing his memories of humanity would mean losing himself. Off to see if he chooses more wisely this time.
