I have a strong feeling that I am preaching to either the converted, or the out-of-reach, here, but this is a reminder that the poll for the timing of the writerconuk 2012 Event (which has to move because of those pesky Olympics) is open for one more week.

You are right about in jokes. But I think as a group writercon is very aware of the potential problems of being too cliquey and is doing a lot to dispell it. It is always hard to judge of course but at least the movers and shakers are always thinking about the problem and taking steps :)


Why on earth do they have football as part of the Olympics? It's not as if the wretched game isn't on 24/7 the rest of the time. The Olympics should be a chance to give it a rest.
