UFO Awards

ice-cream has been nominated at the UFO Awards - The Universal Fanfic Open Awards, for stories completed in 2008.

Thank you to whoever did the nominating and to the person who seconded it.

There is just one category per fandom - 'Best of' and it is nice to see that, while not the biggest selection, BtVS is nowhere near the smallest. Someone has been busy, because there were no nominations from BtVS in 2007 and only one in 2006. This year there are 15.

So go look. Click on the banner, to see who else has been nominated. And thank you again to my nominator.

Thank you, hon. I am very happy that someone likes it enough to nominate it.

Thank you, hon. It is lovely when a story that has been finished for a while gets remembered.

That's fantastic! Fifteen noms is pretty good. *wonders if the link to the UFO awards just above the chatbox on Spander Files had anything to do with it, lol*

The link's down now that the noms are over, but as soon as the voting starts it's going up again. My Spander authors are an award-worthy bunch.

It might just. Someone has obviously been busy nom'ing BtVS this year. Certainly, the link for ice cream goes to the Spander files.
Thank you, hon.

All it needs is people knowing that an award site is ready to accept noms. Then it's just a matter of who can beat down their door first to wave your stories at them.

I don't think any of the other sites demand that a story be seconded though? Makes it kind of a double honour to get through to the voting round, doesn't it?

Your stories certainly deserve the recognition.

Yes, the seconding thing is an interesting variation.
Thank you, hon. That's a lovely thing to say.
