Really a very, very good chapter. I was stunned to see Wes & Roger here, but it worked beautifully (even if you did blow Angel canon all to hell *laughs*). I must admit to being a bit up in the air as to where you're leading us ultimately, but that's probably because I thought I knew where we were going. I should just stop thinking and enjoy the ride.
I think what I like most about this chapter is the early interplay between Xander and Spike once they're inside Roger's office. Normally (as in the end when he's out to save Wes), Xander's "scrambling" to find the way to persuade Spike, but here (in the early bit), the roles are very much reversed. Spike submits to what is clearly a demand from Xander, and he does so without internal narrative about giving the boy his way or anything else. This shows a lot about where Xander is versus where he was when we began. Just delightful.
Really... we have to wait another week? You can't take another holiday?
