Once again, congratulations on the awards, but you know how I feel, anyway.
I love how bereft Spike is at the start of this. Seeing him work things through in his head was really interesting, but the real kicker was him watching the door handle which didn't turn as Xander continued passsed the door and on up the stairs to the roof.
And poor Xander, suddenly feeling optionless just at a time in his life when his options should be limitless. "I'm not supposed to grow up until after that." That's just a killer line.
Re the GED comment, I agree that this is Spike being practical, but I do agree with texanfan that you don't care for someone's intellectual growth if they're just a toy to you.
