*g* Thank you. I am playing with extrapolating backwards with this one. I'm really pleased that you liked it. I was concerned that the direct insights into his thoughts didn't work with the strong objective narrator of the later passages, but I really didn't want to lose either of them, so I decided to ignore the rules of good writing in favour of enjoying myself. *g* I will continue this, I'm just not sure how.
