I have one good night's sleep under my belt (which, when I think about it, is a really strange place to keep it), I have caught up on my flist, sort of, (meaning that I haven't read anything, but I do have ten zillion tabs open), and I am suitably caffinated, so I may manage to stay awake until tonight. (Dimly, dimly, dimly, I can remember a time when I could stay up until 3am, like some other people (yes, I'm looking at you three) but in my defense, they didn't get up at 6am. At least, I don't think they did. If they did, I will be content to feel very inadequate.) But the first thing I did this morning was the important post for [livejournal.com profile] kazzy_cee, here. This was the result of someone (not me! Why would you suspect such a thing?) making a comment over supper. It had to be done.

WriterconUK 2009 was great! *thinks* That deserves more emphasis - IT WAS BRILLIANT!!!!!

I drove down to Coventry, picking up [livejournal.com profile] just_sue and [livejournal.com profile] hils on the way and we counted down the motorway junctions, with a cheer. Trust me, it made sense at the time.

The Coventry ring road was scary and confusing, but [livejournal.com profile] just_sue did a brilliant job of navigating and just when we were all going "OMG, is it this way or that?" there was the hotel, right in front of us. The hotel was very good. The staff were helpful, the rooms were clean and the beds were comfortable (I am assuming they all were, based on the fact that mine was. I didn't actually go around and test everybody else's.)

I met [livejournal.com profile] darkhavens and shared a room with her, which was really nice, in spite of the fact that we live at opposite ends of the day.

[livejournal.com profile] bogwitch did a fantastic job with the goody bags! *hugs her Merlin mouse mat* The quiz on the Friday evening was fun. Congratulations to [livejournal.com profile] kitty_poker1 for that. The team I was on did not come last *cheers team 1* and we went out for a Thai meal before retiring to the bar, where I got to explain the existence of Gen, Het, Slash and Femslash, to a very nice guy who was along for the cricket. (Sorry [livejournal.com profile] wildecate. *waves at Simon*)

I could do a recount of the next day, but [livejournal.com profile] quinara has already done a much better job than I could, here.

We left about 12.30 on Sunday and I was home by 6pm, having thrown [livejournal.com profile] hils and [livejournal.com profile] just_sue out of the car, on the way north. A stiff G&T (or three) after that, I fell into bed and I don't think I moved all night.

What have I missed? Loads of stuff, I'm sure.

PS [livejournal.com profile] just_sue and I were just chatting and had to forcibly stop ourselves from getting into plan mode for next year *grins* We'll be in touch via the LJ Comm in a few weeks, to start the planning proper. In the meantime, I am off to read the other attendees' posts.

*waves at all of you* Thank you for making the weekend such a success.
