I love reading and writing Spike. So easy to screw with and dig into his skull, because mundane activities for an undead creature that simply doesn't think like humans should be something but sometimes it just isn't. I had an interesting scene somewhere on the stains his fingers picked up through the years, quite entertaining. The yearning for belonging above love is very poignant, and I feel a hollow echo in the words that make all of your writing very real and human. I never saw this part (I stopped actively watching after Spike got chipped, but I've got the general timeline well mapped out), but Spike's observations of the general despair and confusion among the entire group built up on the whole air of hopelessness that Spike just can't take anymore, and he bursts out in angry denial right there at the end. Nice.
