You know how there was a huge explosion in demand for forensic science courses at universities after CSI arrived on our screens? And Numb3rs has done its bit to make Maths sexy. So FBI agents paired with scientists are the in thing.

Watched Eleventh Hour last night, because Rufus Sewell was a wonderful baddy in A Knight's Tale. And he's pretty.

So funny.

The agenda is clear: we can make general science interesting.

"Hey, of course! Why don't we whip up a brand new gene therapy here in this college lab? It won't take long and we have at least half an hour before the victim dies."

Do you sometimes feel like begging people to please stop helping? *g*

I think my favourite bit about Eleventh Hour was the speed at which they can identify unknown pathogens... *snerk*

Mind you, CSI is also forensic science in high speed isn't it. I love the identification of the finger prints which takes seconds.

So it was, yes. All for the tidy 45 minutes of drama. There was a lovely line in Gray's Anatomy, I think it was, once. Something like, "What's keeping those tests? House never has to wait this long." *g*

Absolutely. I work in criminal law and we wait MONTHS for DNA results. A simple lab test to identify drugs can take weeks due to backup in the lab. And any time we have anything complicated, the test results usually come back inconclusive!

Oh yes, the certainty of the results. I forgot about that.
