I could just do this. Load up the stories I’ve written. But it’s not very creative is it? They are all in The Attic and at The Island and at WWOMB.

I am writing 3 other stories at the moment. One is in the process of being beta’d by wonderful, lovely, fantastic and more importantly, grammatically correct, Maggie. It’s a new story set in the Observations world. The other 2, well they are just sketched out concepts at the moment. I’ll get to them once the other is out of the way. What? I should be able to walk *and* chew????

Hi hon, just wanted to drop by and say hello. And hearing that you've got a new Observations story in the pipeline has just made my day. You know how I love my D/s Spander. I'll look forward to the other stories as well when they appear.

I see you've got a story already posted which I'm going to get to later. I've sent you an email with some LJ bits and stuff and you might want to apply the "cut" codes to Drifters so that you can compress your post so it doesn't take up so much room. I've outlined how in my email.

Thank you for the welcome. It is lovely of you to take the trouble to visit and thank you for the offer. Sparrow has kindly given me some notes, so I hope I won't need to call on you, but I appreciate the offer - and will take you up on it if I get too lost.

The new Observations is still a while off posting - in fact today I am doing this LJ thing instead of looking at Maggie's comments :bad Maz:

I'll do as you suggest with the formatting of Drifters, as soon as I read your instructions again - it looks simple, but I'm a bit distracted by the match at the moment.

Thanks again

Maz

Welcome aboard! For all she pretends to be a technophobe, [livejournal.com profile] sparrow2000 is a good person to learn from!

I've found people's userinfo pages to be extremely helpful for finding new (or old!) friends & communities...

Hey. Thank you for stopping by - I think I've just fallen in love with Sparrow - it was so good of her to help me, and then to welcome me too. And equally lovely for you to do the same.

Thank you

Hi there. Just came over from [livejournal.com profile] sparrow2000's journal to welcome you to LJ. Glad to hear you're working on stories. I read your Xander/Oz story, Drifters and thoroughly enjoyed the leisurely unfolding of their friendship on its new terms. Very nicely done and excellent Xander voice. I didn't want it to end at the point it did though ;-) Is that the end or are you going to write more, dealing with what will have to be a hard time for Oz, knowing he's killed again--aha! I just scrolled forward and found a chapter 2. Woot!

Anyway, welcome to livejournal. You'll find lots of interesting folks here and some terrific writers. Just go into Sparrow (or my) friends list and have a tour around, start to get to know names etc.

And hey, read Tabaqui whose comment shows just above mine. She's absolutely fantastic. Way up there among the fandom greats. Does fabulous Spander.

Hi there. I am overwhelmed by this welcome. Thank you.
And thank you for you nice comments about Drifters. that was the first story I ever wrote, so I am very fond of it. I hope you continue to enjoy the ending.

I have a couple of other stories (all S/X) at the Attic or The Island or WWOMB, if you are interested. The Attic has a nice simple layout though, so you can find them under my name at: http://www.excessant.com/teller_a_n.htm

They are not so innocent as Drifters, but I hope you enjoy.

Thank you again for the welcome.

Maz

Howdy -- I'm another who followed [livejournal.com profile] sparrow2000 over to say hello!

Looks like you're doing great so far in terms of starting to get stories posted and play around with what lj can do and be. As for whether to just upload stories, that's entirely up to you -- I like the idea of being able to find all of an author's stories from a single lj, but I know that can be a pain to get everything entered in...and here we have a classic 'do as I say not as I do' moment because I still haven't managed that on my own lj. *g*

In any case, welcome and feel free to stop by and say hi anytime!

Hey there,
Sent over by Sparrow too. I'm a huge Spander lover but didn't discover them until I found LJ and stopped reading off archives. Posting to your LJ is another great way to reach readers. Once you've posted you can click on the little heart and stick your posts in memories. Even have memories set up so your 'keyword' is the name of your fic and input your story posts in there as your chapters.

But I'm getting ahead of myself.

LJ can be overwhelming at first but after awhile you find a groove. Some people just have LJs to read off others, some post everyday, and still others only post with a fic update. You'll get the hang of it. [livejournal.com profile] idiots_and_lj is a great comm to ask questions. And through Sparrow you've already made several friends. So you can always ask us questions.

Welcome to the madhouse!

Hi.

I get that. Maybe I will post all my stuff here, as an archive. I haven't got so much yet that it would be a huge chore to do.

I don't recognise your username. This is great - you write, so I am findng new authors to read. I will come visit. Thanks.

Hang on - you are writing 'Unacceptable losses'. Yes I know you. I remember that story when it was called 'Unnamed Spander'. So, you are still writing it - yes?

Hi there.

I think you're right. I am a bit overwhelmed at the moment - but I'm sure I'll get the hang of it. People have been very kind and welcoming. I think as madhouses go - this one is very comfortable.

Thanks again for the welcome.

Thank you. I could really do with a day off work, just to get the hang of this and go visit all the people who have been so welcoming and visited me at Sparrows request. But I must go. Thanks for stopping by.

Yep, that would be me! What a delightful surprise that you recognize me! *blushes* I am still working on Unacceptable Losses -- the last (or second to last) chapter is in the works, but currently kicking my ass...of course that hasn't stopped me from thinking ahead to the next arc in the larger story that this wants to become. Thanks so much for taking a look at my stories!

From: [identity profile] thismaz.livejournal.com
Okay - larger arc.... That sounds promising. Looks like I have read it all so far. I think it was back in May that I found it again. I lost it for a long while, probably when you gave it a name *g*. Glad I did find it again.

You know, I'm horrible, but I will put out stories when I only know the ending and have only the sketchiest of ideas about how I'm going to get there. It makes it really nice because readers will make guesses, and that sparks my imagination. So, feel free to post bits or chapters and let people in on the process.

Date: 2006-07-01 04:55 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] thismaz.livejournal.com
*Grin* that's not horrible - because you are one of those people who doesn't abandon wip - you have said so and I believe you. But you also write long stories, with room to develop plot. I am still thinking much shorter at the moment - the stories I have only sketched out are probably only one post long and I wouldn't dare post something until Maggie has seen it - and if you knew how much she helps me you wouldn't want me to either ;-)

From: [identity profile] lit-gal.livejournal.com
Well, that's fair too. I guess I just didn't want you to feel like you HAD to have everything all pretty for us. The nice thing here is that so many people are writers or critical readers that you can get some good advice or enthusisic shoving for reluctant muses.
