Puzzeled, but persisting
Jun. 25th, 2006 09:08 amI could just do this. Load up the stories I’ve written. But it’s not very creative is it? They are all in The Attic and at The Island and at WWOMB.
I am writing 3 other stories at the moment. One is in the process of being beta’d by wonderful, lovely, fantastic and more importantly, grammatically correct, Maggie. It’s a new story set in the Observations world. The other 2, well they are just sketched out concepts at the moment. I’ll get to them once the other is out of the way. What? I should be able to walk *and* chew????

Date: 2006-06-25 03:41 pm (UTC)I see you've got a story already posted which I'm going to get to later. I've sent you an email with some LJ bits and stuff and you might want to apply the "cut" codes to Drifters so that you can compress your post so it doesn't take up so much room. I've outlined how in my email.

Date: 2006-06-25 04:11 pm (UTC)I'll do as you suggest with the formatting of Drifters, as soon as I read your instructions again - it looks simple, but I'm a bit distracted by the match at the moment.
Thanks again

Date: 2006-06-25 05:38 pm (UTC)Anyway, welcome to livejournal. You'll find lots of interesting folks here and some terrific writers. Just go into Sparrow (or my) friends list and have a tour around, start to get to know names etc.

Date: 2006-06-25 05:48 pm (UTC)And thank you for you nice comments about Drifters. that was the first story I ever wrote, so I am very fond of it. I hope you continue to enjoy the ending.
I have a couple of other stories (all S/X) at the Attic or The Island or WWOMB, if you are interested. The Attic has a nice simple layout though, so you can find them under my name at: http://www.excessant.com/teller_a_n.htm
They are not so innocent as Drifters, but I hope you enjoy.
Thank you again for the welcome.

Date: 2006-06-25 06:19 pm (UTC)Looks like you're doing great so far in terms of starting to get stories posted and play around with what lj can do and be. As for whether to just upload stories, that's entirely up to you -- I like the idea of being able to find all of an author's stories from a single lj, but I know that can be a pain to get everything entered in...and here we have a classic 'do as I say not as I do' moment because I still haven't managed that on my own lj. *g*
In any case, welcome and feel free to stop by and say hi anytime!

Date: 2006-06-26 05:28 am (UTC)I get that. Maybe I will post all my stuff here, as an archive. I haven't got so much yet that it would be a huge chore to do.
I don't recognise your username. This is great - you write, so I am findng new authors to read. I will come visit. Thanks.

Date: 2006-06-26 01:49 am (UTC)Sent over by Sparrow too. I'm a huge Spander lover but didn't discover them until I found LJ and stopped reading off archives. Posting to your LJ is another great way to reach readers. Once you've posted you can click on the little heart and stick your posts in memories. Even have memories set up so your 'keyword' is the name of your fic and input your story posts in there as your chapters.
But I'm getting ahead of myself.
LJ can be overwhelming at first but after awhile you find a groove. Some people just have LJs to read off others, some post everyday, and still others only post with a fic update. You'll get the hang of it.
Welcome to the madhouse!

Date: 2006-06-26 05:38 am (UTC)I think you're right. I am a bit overwhelmed at the moment - but I'm sure I'll get the hang of it. People have been very kind and welcoming. I think as madhouses go - this one is very comfortable.
Thanks again for the welcome.
