I rebuilt my computer at Christmas and carelessly seem not to have saved the location of a couple of stories. I've been looking for them for a while now and since I know I got them from recs, I have finally given up on looking and am asking, instead.

Since I am not a member of many Torchwood communities, I figure I probably got the recs from one of you, but in spite of trawling back through the journals of the obvious suspects, I am still at a loss. Hell, one of you might have written them *hopes*

The first is a very haunting Jack/John story, although no names are used. Written in the second person, from John Hart's POV, and set during the timeloop, it is basically about what made John the John we see on screen - his destruction and reconstruction at Jack's hands. It's one of those stories that comes back to my mind occasionally. I'm not sure I will ever read it again, but unless I can find it, I don't have a chance to decide not to.

Thank you [livejournal.com profile] sueworld2003 it is I Nothing But To Please His Fantasy which can be found here - http://paperclipbitch.livejournal.com/91137.html

The second is altogether lighter (which would not be difficult). It's a John/Xander story. Post Chosen and set, I think, in Scotland. Xander is thinking about Spike and meets John. The meeting helps him resolve some issues. It is a shortish one-shot, one-night-stand story.

And thank you to [livejournal.com profile] sparrow2000 for ID'ing [livejournal.com profile] twilightofmagic's Out of the Shadows, which is here - http://community.livejournal.com/spring_with_xan/116298.html

Any help would be most appreciated. All help was much appreciated.

Was the Jack/John this one?

'I Nothing But To Please His Fantasy'

"Maybe Capt John wasn't always the way he is now, maybe someone helped push him into the warped creation that we see today. All is revealed in this interesting take on those five years that Jack and John spent together"....

It's a superbly written tale, and worthy of recing again. :)

It surely is. It is the only story I've ever read that, even a year later, makes me shiver when I remember it.
